The Department of Information and Computer Science provides both B.Sc. and M.Sc. level education in computer science as part of the Degree Programme of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and as part of the Degree Programme of Bioinformation Technology (BIO) at the Aalto University School of Science. The department's subject areas in B.Sc. level education are

  • information and computer science (CSE)
  • computational and cognitive bioscience (BIO),

and in M.Sc. degree education,

  • information and computer science (CSE),
  • language technology (CSE),
  • computational science (CSE),
  • computational and cognitive bioscience (BIO).

The Department also offers education for B.Sc. students from Finland and abroad aiming for a Master's degree in the following international Master's programmes:

The Master's degrees in the field of science and technology are currently being reformed and new Master's programmes will be launched in autumn 2015. More information about the new master's programmes.

Exceptionally qualified Master's students can apply for the department's honours programme. Students admitted to the programme are associated to one of the research groups of the department, and will have the opportunity for part-time employment during semesters in research-related work.
